Dental Nurse – Military Locum – Deepcut

Are you a passionate, dedicated dental nurse looking for work in a unique environment? CRG Defence is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated GDC registered Dental Nurse to work for the MoD in Deepcut.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing clinical and administrative support to the Dental Officer to enable maintenance of the surgery. This includes preparation/sterilisation of all instruments before and after patients, reception duties, document handling, operating the dental computing system, processing radiographs, shared maintenance tasks and working in the central sterilisation area when in place.
  • Carrying out preventive cross infection procedures including sterilisation of instruments and materials in compliance with current legislation and best practice.
  • Ensuring that not less than 6.5 hours per day in 2 sessions are set aside for appointed patients
  • Accountable to the Senior Dental Officer through their line management.
  • Complying with all Health and Safety Policy directives and legislation.
  • Adhere to local stock control procedures when removing items of stock from the storeroom.
  • Managing the patient appointment system.

    What you will need:

  • You must have the right to work in the UK.
  • Fully registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) without restrictions and valid medical indemnity insurance
  • To have completed GDC highly recommended Continuing Professional Development (CPD) including basic life support, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, infection control, and adequate radiological protection knowledge.
  • To be trained and current in emergency and resuscitation procedures and have practised and tested these procedures at least annually (in accordance with JSP 950 Leaflet 4-6-1 DMS CPR Standards and Training.

    • Must have undertaken the additional health clearance checks for clinicians required to perform Exposure Prone Pro

  • cedures (in accordance with the Department of Health policy entitled “Health clearance for tuberculosis, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV: New Healthcare Workers”).
